From Crisis to Compassion: My Journey to Counselling and My Deep Commitment to Supporting Your Healing and Growth Journey
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent time working as a call taker for a crisis intervention line, where I provided support to individuals in acute psychological distress. This experience taught me the importance of quick, compassionate responses in moments of crisis. Using a crisis intervention model, I helped callers navigate their most challenging moments by developing genuine, trusting relationships and offering immediate emotional support. Together, we created personal action and safety plans tailored to their unique situations, ensuring they had the tools needed to cope and move forward.
In addition to my crisis intervention work, I have over a decade of experience in the hospitality industry, which has allowed me to engage with a wide variety of people from diverse backgrounds. This work has deepened my empathy and cultural awareness, giving me the ability to offer a non-judgmental, open, and curious space for my clients to feel safe, seen, and heard. I understand the value of human connection and the importance of meeting each person exactly where they are in their journey.
My approach to counselling is rooted in the belief that every individual is unique, and so are their experiences. I strive to create a therapeutic environment where you can explore your own story, free from judgment, and with the support you deserve.
