Brainspotting

Brainspotting Therapy: Deep Processing for Trauma and Emotional Healing

At Pacific Pines Wellness, we offer Brainspotting as a focused and attuned therapeutic approach to help individuals process trauma, emotional distress, and deeply held stress stored in the body and mind. Brainspotting works by identifying specific eye positions linked to emotional activation, known as ‘brainspots’ allowing your brain and nervous system to access and process experiences that may be difficult to reach through traditional talk therapy. Our therapists provide a calm, supportive environment where you can safely explore and release what feels stuck, always moving at a pace that feels right for you. This approach can be especially helpful for anxiety, trauma, performance blocks, and unresolved emotional experiences, supporting greater clarity, relief, and emotional balance over time.

What to expect in a Brainspotting counselling session

Brainspotting sessions begin with a collaborative conversation to understand what you’d like to focus on and to ensure you feel grounded and supported before beginning the process. Your therapist will help you identify a “brainspot” by tracking eye positions connected to emotional or physical activation, allowing you to gently access deeper layers of stored experience without needing to fully verbalize everything. You’ll be encouraged to notice internal sensations, emotions, and thoughts as they arise, while your therapist provides steady, attuned support throughout the session. The process is paced according to your comfort, with time for integration and grounding at the end of each session to help you feel settled. Over time, Brainspotting can help reduce emotional intensity, release stuck stress responses, and support a greater sense of ease and regulation in daily life.
